Lauren Lovatt is a plant-based chef and entrepreneur with a decade worth of culinary and plant-based experience, opening restaurants and hotels, teaching and food writing.
She is the founder of Plant Academy – London’s most trend-setting culinary academy – and the creator of Mind Food, a book and project bringing the conversation of mental health to the table.
Lauren works with brands, individuals and concepts internationally, with the most recent being long term project curating the food concept and training the culinary team for HOY + ‘Mesa’ – Paris’ first plant-based boutique hotel.
Her keen eye for plating and creative food styling – aligned with a passion for the most vibrant, seasonal ingredients with sprinkles of adaptogenic herbs and tonics – has led Lauren to teach with Leith’s school of food and wine, create of her own Food Studio and collaborate on food styling projects with Sara Kiyo Popowa (of @shisodelicious) and develop Plant Academy into an international brand.
Lauren is now working with Alchemy and Alchemy Academy in Bali, working on a new book and proactively championing conscious hotel and restaurant concepts via her social channels.

JING tea create unforgettable tea experiences whilst enabling tea producers and their environments to thrive. Lauren has been creating recipes with their products to shine a spotlight on the versatility of JING teas.
Odysea is a slow food brand brining greek products to the UK. Lauren has been designing recipes with their products and styling their shoots highlighting how to enjoy their sustainable products.
ZENB create plant based products from whole vegetables. Lauren has been their UK chef for 5 years creating recipes, marketing campaigns and pop up events sharing the benefits of eating plant based.
CONCEPT CONCULTANCY

Throughout 2019 Lauren worked with the founder of HOY Paris to develop a concept for this aspirational hotel. With sustainability, yoga and conscious living at the heart of the brand the restaurant ‘Mesa’ came to life as palace to eat plant based in the heart of Paris. Mesa takes inspiration from the owners Mexican and Parisienne roots using whole vegetables, adaptogenic herbs and local seasonal ingredients to create an enticing menu that shows the power of plant based food. From breakfast to dinner Mesa’s food is elegant, holistic and has the wild soul of latin America.

Plant Academy opened in 2019 as a cookery school in East London with the vision of brining together an international community of plant curious people. 5 years on Plant Academy inspires an eclectic community of chefs, foodies and adventurers from every continent who not only take our culinary courses but use Plant Academy as a reliable recourse for plant based destinations. Through our guides and ‘Plant Based hotels of the world’ we share the best destinations for the plant passionate entrepreneurs.

Through Plant Academy Lauren teaches students from around the world the art of plant based food. Throughout this year she is based in Bali with an ongoing collaboration with Alchemy Academy, part of the pioneering Alchemy Restaurant, which was the first Raw food destination in Bali and trailblazer for all things Plant Based.
